    Contra Dancing in Berkeley
What Is Contra Dancing? Well, technically Contra dancing is a form of American
folk dance in which the dancers form a set of two parallel lines, which run the
length of the hall. Each dance consists of a sequence of moves that ends with
couples having progressed one position up or down the set. As the sequence is
repeated, a couple will eventually dance with every other couple in the set. In
the end though, it is just plain fun. Contra dancing is very easy and no
experience is necessary, as an introductory lesson will be given at 7:30pm before
the dance. All dances are taught and prompted and partners are not needed. It
helps to wear light clothing and leather-soled, non-marking shoes.

Interested? Please contact Carolyn with the following information:
Name, Department, Have you contra danced before?
Can you drive? Do you need a ride? Where would you be coming from?

Meeting Point : Finn Hall, 1819 Tenth Street
    Meeting Time : 7:15 pm
    Contact : Carolyn White
    Cost : $10
Directions : The dance is on the second floor of Finn Hall,
: a white building at 1819 Tenth St in Berkeley,
: north of University and a block west of San Pablo
